Color Care 101

Sheila

Up keep for blondes or any other shade is a necessity for all hair color. This is the biggest challenge my guests face and the most asked questions are about fading to unwanted hues, dullness or dreaded brassiness that peek in their beautiful colors.

During my guests visit I always give a full consultation, care and salon maintenance . However with blondes, opt for the right haircare your stylist recommends. It is your insurance for the investment in your hair to maintain that beautiful tone.

Avoid hot styling tools, invest in water/shower filter, detox the hair, please use a heat protect, schedule regular color and toner touch ups.

These are to name a few, however when using your purple shampoo, use it sparingly! It can darken or dull the tone. Prior to using the purple shampoo, cleanse with your regular shampoo first so you rid the hair from all product build up and cleanse your scalp. Proceed with purple shampoo, rinse and condition well.

Side note: if using root touch up powders, have extensive product buildup or you have shampooed with the purple shampoo prior to your haircolor appointment, please shampoo that morning since build up often plays a role in how your color will process and the end result.
